A lesson in recycling

A couple of days ago I was kindly asked to present Green Thing to the kids and teachers at St. Paul's Whitechapel Primary School in East London. Afterwards, I worked with year 4 class and their teachers on a lesson based on the Green Thing action: Recycled/Reborn (this is related to All-Consuming).

The whole morning was a thoroughly delightful, inspiring experience. The children were charming and enthusiastic and the teachers were welcoming to me and brilliant with the kids. Everyone was really into it.

A couple of the teachers mentioned afterwards that there might be some accidents that day due to poor visibility as the kids insisted on turning off all the lights ;-)

Here's the presentation I showed the class. Afterwards the children wrote down and presented their ideas for creating beautiful new things out of old things - you can see some ideas here.

I've included notes on the presentation script on Slideshare where you can download the presentation file too.

So if you want, you should have everything you need to give this as a lesson yourself. I gave this lesson to my son's class at his school too. Btw, if you haven't done that yet it's well worth trying - great fun and makes your kid's day of course!).

It's a great thing you are with the kids and schools. We do that here with kids, schools and small business. Craig - Bradenton, FL. www.onelightbulb.org
