Age of Stupid - the reason we must act

Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth helped to promote environmental awareness around the globe. The Age of Stupid, which premiered today, will instead challenge each of us to act and to be Not Stupid.

The film portrays a man (Pete Postlethwaite) looking back from the year 2055 and going through an archive of contemporary reports and documentary evidence from our present day. It paints a stunning picture of our individual and collective stupidity in not choosing to act now and avoid the inevitable consequences of man-made climate change.

In an early scene Pete asks "Why didn't we save ourselves when we had the chance".

Please please go and watch it - and tell your friends to watch it - and then tell them to join with you in doing the Green Thing.

Huge congratulations to Franny Armstrong, Pete Postlethwaite, the team from Age of Stupid and all the backers of this crowd-funded project. A hugely important film.

I saw the premiere of the Age of Stupid - Pete Poselthwaite stars as a survivor in 2055 of a world destroyed by climate change watching footage from 2008 and asking why we did not stop this global suicide when we still had the chance. It is a very sobering film, and also an excellent one - the way they mixed the drama of the 2055 setting with the footage of today. and Poselthwaite is fantastic. for details of where it is showing - or to get a DVD see: http://www.ageofstupid.net
