Green Thing is about to launch our very own All-Consuming product for London Fashion Week, so the stars were clearly aligned when a friend introduced us to the super talented Sheena and Eliza and their fantastic Uniform Project.
A few months ago, creative director Sheena Matheiken and dress designer friend Eliza Starbuck created The Uniform Project fundraiser.
Sheena agreed to wear the same dress for a year. Eliza made 7 uniform dresses, one for each day of the week and Sheena constantly reinvents them with sustainable accessories.
The Uniform project is raising funds ($13,245 since May) for the marvellous Akanksha Foundation which educates underprivileged children in India.
It's clever, creative, impressive and inspiring stuff - very much a Green Thing.
ps. Sheena and Eliza are over in London at the moment meeting sustainable fashion folk so if you're in this part of the world and want to have a nice cup of tea, perhaps drop them a line (contacts on their site).
