Less 365

There are lots of new ideas out there that put people's consumption trends to the test. The Uniform project saw one girl wearing the same dress for a year; New dress a day is about reusing and redesigning dresses ad materials found to make a new item for 365 days; 6 items or less saw over 100 people wearing the same 6 items of clothing or less for a month.

Here's a new one: less 365. One man's journey in getting rid of the stuff he's got lying around his house. To do this he will donate, discard, re-gift or recycle some of the stuff he owns.

The idea was born on a hike, when Randy Redding and pal, TJ wanted to apply the same philiosophy of minimalism in the outdoors to everyday life.

Aside from it being an wonderful, fabulous idea it's also a practical yet obvious alternative way of consuming. If you look at most of the stuff you own, how much of it do you actually need? Judging by the comments on Less 365, a lot of people who have stuff they'd like to get rid of and would like to start that same experience of purging their possessions. Follow and join the movement on twitter with the tag #less365.
