A nice quick easy way to slash your household carbon footprint by a third and thereby save around 2 tonnes CO2 a year is to switch to a green electricity supplier. It only takes a few minutes and there are lots of renewable energy tariffs to choose from. Just type in your postcode and the Green Electricity Marketplace will list all the green tariffs in your area.
There's a whole lot of info on Gooshing about why switching to green energy is a good thing and who supplies what, or take a look here for the low-down on where it all comes from. Good Energy and Green Energy, both accredited by the Ethical Company Organisation, and Ecotricity are all good renewables suppliers.
And if you need advice on how to actually switch, Consumer Direct which now overlooks energy too (formerly EnergyWatch) is the place to go.
