A couple of weeks ago I went up to London to take part in Powershift UK. A weekend of workshops and training sessions run by UK Youth Climate Coalition.
I wanted to talk to the young evangelists and campaigners there about Green Thing and in particular about the new service we're developing, but I came away with much more. The weekend was built on a model developed in the US and used successfully by the Obama election campaign to help people talk to others about climate change, and what we can do about it.
As a sprightly 30-something, I was the oldest person there by some distance and I was awed by the amount of enthusiasm, determination and hope demonstrated by everyone I met.
If you want to help your friends, families, co-workers, etc. change the way they look at climate change, it's well worth checking them out. And if you're young, and want to get involved, then go look up UKYCC now!
I wasn't there on Monday, unfortunately, so I missed out on the spectacular Flashmob dance routine on Jubilee Gardens and then again outside the Houses of Parliament. Check the video...
