Being all-consuming has just gotten a bit easier. Forum for the Future has pointed out that Eastex Materials Exchanges, which cover the east of England from North Yorkshire to Essex, are amongst a growing group of service providers that allow organisations to sell or give away surplus industrial wares. You can even set a materials exchange in your own area.
This is exactly how Sebastien Ramirez created this DIY greenhouse. He collected scrap prices of windscreens from his local materials exchange. Apparently there is lots of recycled and reused stuff you can get your hands on- from trouser presses and pheasant feathers, to waste fuel oil residues. It's like Scrap Heap Challenge but for anyone and in their own neighbourhoods.
