Sharing spaces

Sometimes it can be very difficult to grow your own at home- especially if you don't have a garden.

Lots of new services are springing up that aim to connect growers with allotment areas. In Canada, Sharing Backyards, helps people share their backyards. It's a service that links people with unused yard space with those looking for a place to grow food.

In the UK, we've got Landshare which connects landowners and allotment holders with those who want to grow. It's especially hard in the UK to get an allotment as they're managed by local authorities. Waiting times to get a small piece of land can take years.

No longer having space to grow isn't a big deal. Through allotment sharing services you can find one near you.
