Now, we've written about some pretty inspiring people before but Sam Klein is probably the youngest to date.
At just 12 years old, Sam is a keen recycler whose motto is“When you throw something away…it hasn’t gone away...it’s just gone to a different location.”
Wise words indeed.
Not only wise with his words, Sam has also started his very own recycling business.
Instead of staying in playing video games, Sam spends his free time visiting local businesses, collecting their empty ink cartridges as ink cartridges can be recycled.
The thing is they can't go into your average recycling bin so people tend to toss them out with the waste instead.
After collecting the empty cartridges, Sam sorts through them all and sends them by the box load to the corresponding manufacturer and can get up to $200 for the recycled materials.
What's even better is that Sam isn't in it for the money. His aim is to show how recycling can be profitable for both the environment and business-owners. So he donates all the money he gets to charity. So far this has been about $1000 and he doesn't take a cut himself.
Pretty inkredible when you think about it.
