Viva the low cost flight revolution comrades, just add Russian Constructivist graphics plus bold, anti-establishment tagline and iconic outdoor advertising shall be yours.

Ah Virgin America, a challenger brand rebelling against the established order and giving consumers a fair deal, right?

Errr, except that air travel is the fastest growing contributor to climate change producing a cocktail of greenhouse gases like nitrous oxide and water vapour which have a far greater warming potential than C02 (plus their effects are magnified because they are released high up straight into the atmosphere).

NOT a Green Thing.

The real message is to Stay Grounded when you can - take a train, boat or coach instead. Commercial air travel burns over 200 billion litres of jet fuel every year and rising, and is responsible for over 700 million tons of CO2 emissions.
