Food For Good are a group of friends from the London College of Communication who have set themselves a massive (and inspiring) challenge: to undertake a project that could do something good for our society.
While brainstorming for an idea one of them remembered seeing how much unsold food was thrown away in the food business. So they decided to do something about all this waste. Thus, Food For Good was born.
Their aim is to reduce the amount of edible waste by transporting it from restauarants and donating it to charities. It really is a win-win situation, they help keep food from going to landfill and in the meanwhile help charities in reaching out to homeless people and involving them as part of the community.
Considering that 10% of rich countries' greenhouse gas emissions come from growing food that is never eaten we're singing the praises of people who want to do something about this.
P.S. If you remember when we wrote about Feeding the 5000, it was these guys who organised it. They are just racking up those green stars aren't they.
