What's a Tweet-a-Watt when it's at home, you might ask? Elegantly described as "an open source hack with a green heart" by Inhabitat.com, it's wireless system that monitors how much electricity you're using and then updates your Twitter feed. The idea is you'll be even more motivated to save energy when you're sharing the information publically.
It's also the winner of the Greener Gadgets Design Competition making its inventor $3,000 greenbacks better off.
This is part of the whole energy visualisation trend with initiatives like Google's PowerMeter and devices like the Wattson which help people use less energy by providing better information about how much they use and what it costs.
It also looks a lot safer than this DIY recipie for home electrocution we posted about before.
