Vrachtfiets is a four-wheel vehicle from Scandinavia, thought of as a green vehicle to be used for removals. Vrachtfiets literally means 'car-bicycle' in Dutch and was invented by Onno Sminia and Louis Pierre Geerinckx, two students at the Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands.

This light emission-free vehicle is an update of the Netherlands traditional cargo bike which was designed at the beginning of the 20th century. It has no engine but an electrical assist. It is not yet solar-powered, but it is close to becoming so. With a capacity of heavy loads haulage, this product attracts attention. Indeed, the two students have recently presented their product and found its first buyer, the city of Delft.
The Vrachtfiets echoes the decision taken by Waitrose a year ago to use more bicycles and carts for greener deliveries, as well as 'La Petite Reine', the French company offering cargo bike deliveries to businesses.
