What I Did Not Buy

A site that lets you type in what you were going to buy and how much it would've cost, then see the good that could've done had you donated the same amount to charity (specifically the BRAC charity behind the site).

For instance: "By donating $71 - $100 instead of buying shoes, you could provide training for adolescents in computers skills, hair dressing or another skilled profession, giving them a source of income for life."

This reminds me of the fabulous Global Rich List which did the same thing more elegantly and simply. You type in how much you earn and the site shows you how rich you are comparted to the rest of the world...and then naturally taps you up for a donation. Brilliant.

PS. Of course it also reminds us to Stick With What You Got and if we really have to scratch that shopping itch, then to Buy NothingTM ;-)
