Woolfiller in sheep's clothing

What is Woolfiller?

It's an ingenious invention that lets you mend holes in your woolly clothes - for good. And in rainbow colours.

Who invented it?

Heleen Klopper, a clever Dutch product designer and expert in wool and felt, who says that "Woolfiller evolved from the simple wish to repair a hole in a woollen jumper."

How does it work?

Well, the fibres of wool have tiny scales that open up when you prick them with a felt needle. The open scales of the wool and the Woolfiller bind with each other and won't even separate in the wash.

Why is it so good?

1) It helps you stick with what you got, saving energy *and* holding on to the jumpers, hats, socks and gloves that you love. It even does carpets.

2) There's a fan club. With a Facebook group. So you can ask questions and swap tips.

3) It means you can turn your samey grey high street jumper into your very own, one-of-a-kind design.

4) You can order online and put together your own colour kits.

5) It brings together "an older tradition of handwork and contemporary design and forms a meeting point for diverse projects and collaborations." Cool.

Where can I get some?

To see what it looks like, what you can do with it and how to order it online, just go to www.woolfiller.com

Happy Woolfilling!
