The London Fields, the Hackney based band, not the patch of grass in East London (but the patch of grass could very well be its namesake) have created a really good local vibe with the release of their debut album, This is Yours. Through help from friends, family and freecyclers, the band collected recycled materials and packaged their CD's using painted cereal boxes, donated string and other bits and pieces. You can follow their freecyled journey on their myspace page, which includes interesting information, like how many balloons it takes to make a CD fly.
The album was literally released- tied to a set of helium balloons (although this is not so green) to drop to lucky owners- and also tied to a fence near the London Fields.
