One way to use less electric light is to light up your world naturally. Try getting rid of your net curtains for instance because they cut out light. The technical term for removing net curtains is apparently ‘daylighting’, which says it all.
You could also clean your windows more often, you’ll be amazed at the difference that makes. While you’re at it, clean everything more often - it'll make your rooms naturally brighter.

Here's a thing ... light makes us happy. It gives us vitamin D, helps us sleep, makes us 19% more productive, keeps things we don’t want like melatonin away and keeps things we don’t even know what they mean like circadian rhythms rhythmic. Too little light makes us rather S.A.D.
