So I’m not perfect and there are lots of opportunities to do better but last week I presented at a green conference to about 100 people in California….from the comfort of my own home on a phone!!
So for them admittedly I was a black box in front of a microphone (I did ask them to put a picture of a handsome male actor up on the podium…but alas)…anyway my words got there just fine…and I prevented about ½ ton of CO2 generation from a jet flight to and from…saved about $2500…ate lunch at home…played with the dogs that afternoon and got hugs from my son and bride that evening…all of which would have been impossible if I’d flown to the conference for an hours worth of talking. Pretty good for everyone!
Yeah I am pretty sure the plane flew without me...and it still burned some fuel and generated CO2. But If we don't start this who will. I also, know it is not quite the same thing as being there and it’s not always the answer… sometimes you have to be there…but when you don’t have to…..don’t. ;-)
