Or rather: How I tried to do the Green Thing.
In the summer I received, among tons of junk mail, a leaflet of a recycling company which said I could leave unused/broken electricals outside my door on a certain day and they would pick them up so they could be re-cycled. I was very pleased as I have no car and it would be difficult for me to carry the stuff to an approved collection point. I left the electricals as instructed but the next day they were still there.... and the next. I rang the company and a stroppy man told me they might have missed my door (not easily done in a street of identical houses) and that they would be back in 6 weeks. They lied.
I am quite disappointed as my unused electricals are once again cluttering up my garden shed, just when I was hoping to have enough room to store some wood/coal for the fireplace....
