We work from home and in September 2010 we invested in a big solar electric system that will break even on cost in about 12 years. We generate more electricity than we consume. We also have a solar water system, and early in the year we completely turned off our gas water heating system. It's very liberating to have a shower that is heated entirely by the sun.
