My name is Andrew Davey and I’m 13 years old. I own a Eco-friendly search engine; thats Google powered, called Ecosmartsearch.com - The Energy Saving Search Engine. With our motto “We are saving energy, now it's your turn”.

My search engine saves energy because it's black, this saves energy because the computer monitor uses 59 watts to produce the image on the screen, where as a white or light screen uses 74 watts to display the image. This means it saves 15 watts. Therefore by using my search engine you could help the environment, by saving 15 watts each time. It's also Google powered so the search results are exactly the same as Google's. The aim of EcoSmartSearch is not only to save energy on every search, but to make us more aware of energy saving.

EcoSmartSearch is based on this http://ecoiron.blogspot.com/2007/01/black-google-would-save-3000-megawatts.html

Mark inspired me to start ecosmartsearch.com

So very shortly after reading this I got to work, I've always been good at computers and I turned my talents to website design(not something very easy at all) I had previously made a website for my dads small medal business. BargainMedals.com But I had wanted to make my own website. I came up with the idea of a eco-friendly search engine as I could help stop global warming.

I hope you look at my search engine and start saving more energy, and you spread the word of EcoSmartSearch.com

To use my engine please vist www.EcoSmartSearch.com
