I'm saying a big HELL YES!! to human heat!
Theres nothing quite as good as having a big cuddle to make you feel better and keep your warmth in!
I'm thinking of setting up an event to get everyone hugging in london?? the big hug? ".. turn off the hot water and share some human heat?.." yay/nay.. what do people think?

:)

A year has gone by since i've written, so here goes..

Since last year i've quit University, gone travelling a bit found a job and moved back in with the family. (you'll be happy to know that a lot of it was by train and foot and i stayed in hostels to help my carbon footprint)

I've realised I am the odd one out of the family as recycling and green chores are slighty lacking in this household!
Luckily spelthorne council are very good with recycling and we have massive wheelybins that we can fill with a variety of recyclable objects :)
However I can see that in the year of my absence the family have been a tad greedy with things such as heating.
There are gona be some changes round here!!!
I'm firslty still refusing to turn on my radiator! (this is taking quite a bit of will power)And i intend to keep it up for the majority if not all of winter :)
However I have found ways to keep my room almost as snug and warm as the rest of the house.
I leave my door wide open trhoughout the day to let in warmth, put a hot water bottle in my bed at night, invested in some warmer pj's and its an excuse to use my favourite stack of blankets :)
bearing in mind that i'm still using a super thin summer duvet (i think its something between a 6 and 9 tog) and my bedroom is on the outside of the house with a drive way next to it.. so my room should generally be the coldest in the house anyway.
I think i've come to the conclusiont hat i write too much and rammble on about things.. but heres hoping someone will find it remotely entertaining or informational?

Here are some of the small changes I have made in my life that hopefully make a big impact overall:)

* Turn the tap off when im brushing my teeth
* Put on extra layers when it's cold instead of turning the heating on.
* wearing clothes more than once before washing them.
* Recycling everything i can.
*Walking to university from my flat everyday (15-20 mins)
* Use energy saving light bulbs.
* Limit shower time to as less as possible, and if i have a bath i use the bath water for other things such as hand washing clothes.
*I fitted a hipppo water saver in our toilet.
*I turn off all plug sockets when they're not needed.

I think these make quite a big difference. I only fitted the hippo recently so i'm going to see whether theres a change on our water bills after xmas.
Cheers for reading, any comments are appreciated :)

To save heat this year I have been going around giving hugs to all my friends. Instead of having the heating up high I treated myself to some thick woolen blankets for my bed. And i'm enjoying filling up my funky hot water bottle and drinking hot chocolate in the evenings to keep me snug! :)
