I have taken a new look at my walking texture pictures. I realized that it is not the walking it self that doesn't appeal to me. It is the streets i am walking on. I was looking for something with identity during my walk and this became the texture of my road.

-I want to walk on a street that tells you who lives there.

-I want to walk on a street that tells it's history

-I want to walk on a street that show how lively it is.

-I want a street that helps people to interact.

I found some articles showing the benefits for a neighborhood if people walk there. When people walk in their neighborhood they are fitter have more friends in the neighborhood, do more volunteerism, have reduced crime levels, and the people have a bigger sense of pride

On www.walkscore.com you can see how walkable your neigberhood is.

In southern Europe the street are designed for the people.. To talk and walk. Here is Holland the street are there for transport.

I think this direction has enough interesting aspects to design for.
