Last year, I asked my boyfriend to NOT get me a card or present for V-day, as I don't believe in this non festival, and I wanted him to know he was certainly not obliged to cave in to the immense commercial pressure to buy me a crappy gift. Needless to say, he ignored my wishes and bought me a rubbish card and generic present, what a waste of precious resources! (He is now my ex boyfriend.)
Ladies: please don't expect presents from your guys, just appreciate his company, or something.
Fellas: if your gal is the kind who loves presents and cards, try and do something home made - it's original and doesn't cost the earth.
