Don't know about you, but I hear about the car mountain, see all the deals on the forecourts and hear the hard luck stories from the manufacturers and I keep thinking: now must be a great time to save on a new car (or motorcycle - now that would be fun!).

But I keep coming back to the same result. It's a fantastic time not to buy one at all. Old is the new New. We are living in the Age of Conspicuous Thrift: http://sdj-pragmatist.blogspot.com/2009/01/age-of-conspicuous-thrift.html

I ran, cycled, then ran again at yesterday's DB Max Chilly Duathlon - a 2 mile run, 10 mile cycle, 2 mile run, orbiting a very windy Castle Combe Race Circuit.

All in aid of Prostate UK - you can donate at http://www.justgiving.com/simondeanejohns

I did it at speed yesterday

I did it at home

I did it at Zopa
