Ok, so I'm back. We just moved into a house and I still haven't setup a trash service. The reason being? We've been recycling everything we can. Such as plastics, paper, cardboard, and glass. Then, I compost all of our food scraps. What does that leave? Not much really!

Yes I am. And no I didn't spell "reel" wrong. I haven't posted in awhile due to moving into a house. I spent the last 2 years in a 3rd floor pad and needed a yard so I could plant a decent garden. Mind you, I had a blast with my container garden on my balcony.
So, we're all moved in and I have about an acre of yard, 1/2 of which needs to be mowed. I bought a reel mower online because I couldn't stand the thought of buying a gas powered mower. For so many reasons. I put my reel mower together and immediately went for a walk around the whole yard pushing the green and orange chopper!
It's been great really. It was quite funny when I saw one of my neighbors mowing his lawn with a gas powered mower wearing a mask over his face while I'm mowing my lawn talking to my wife about other plans for the yard. You see, you don't have to worry about the noise, so talking is possible. You don't have to worry about gas, money to buy gas, money to fix a broken gas mower. Not to mention you get to save the air some CO2, you can shave some calories too!

Recenlty, it seems, every Friday night my family gets to have a pot luck dinner and we don't even have to invite anyone. Others might call it leftover night, but that's boring right?
It's actually quite fun now because we look forward to it and try to just have fun. My 5 year old daughter loves it. I think simply because she gets to choose a few different things.

It's the winter and I've been lowering the thermostat. Doesn't sound quite right does it?
Being that I have a wife and daughters, I can't make it that cold...but I have dropped it 6 degrees thus far without complaint!

The 4 of us decided to make the 7 hour drive instead of flying. Save some money, CO2, and don't have to go through security!
Plus, I can stop anywhere I want along the way to shoot some pics and just enjoy the surroundings.
