Whats changed from the old site?

What's happened to all the stuff I did on the old site?

All your comments and ratings and stuff have been transferred over to the new site.

Where are my CO2 savings?

The amount of CO2 you’ve saved so far is listed in your profile header. Just click Update next to the CO2 figure to change it, or click Edit my profile and it’s under the My CO2 savings tab.

Where are my lovely creatures?

I’m sorry to say that we had to ‘let them go’ as the euphemism has it. But if you’re pining for them you can spend some time with your memories in our Old Green Things Flickr collection.

Where have the DONE IT buttons gone?

No more clicking Done It to count CO2 each time you do something. Instead we’ve made it much simpler to say how you’re doing the Green Thing by adding a story so you can inspire others to do it too. Plus you can tell us how often you do all seven Green Things and their related action with a simple questionnaire under the My CO2 savings tab in the Edit preferences on your profile page.

Why are there only seven things to do?

Because we wanted to make it even simpler to do the Green Thing. By reducing the number of actions down to seven they’ll be easier to remember and do all the time. We also wanted to emphasise how they’re all inter-connected and add up to a sustainable lifestyle. It seemed easier to do that with seven iconic actions which together cover transportation, energy, food, products, waste and water.

Does this mean we won't get different green things to do each month now?

We’ll highlight one of the seven Green Things each month so the site and email newsletters will still have a one-a-month rhythm.

Why are you sending me more newsletters

In our research, members said they wanted to hear from us a bit more. And we thought that regular communication, four times a month, would make it easier to remember to do the Green Thing and make it part of the daily routine.
