CO2 saved by biking once

If you bicycle instead of walk Green Thing reckons you will go three times further than walking.
So, if you cycle 6 miles instead of taking the car you save 0.339kg of CO2 per mile x 6 1 , therefore cycling once will save 2.03kg of CO2.

Useful bike websites

  • BikeBUDI type in your postcode or town/city and find people who are cycling the same route as you and find out the CO2 you have saved by not taking your car.
  • London Cycling Campaign is the key website/platform for cyclists
You can also order free maps of cycle routes around London
  • Bikely helps cyclists share knowledge of good cycle routes, you can create your route using googlemaps and post it on the website - worldwide.
  • Bike for All Everything you wanted to know about cycling but were afraid to ask.
  • Foldaway bikes - allowing you to combine your journey with other public transport means
  • Transport for London website
